Mike Quinn grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of Auburn University, Mike spent years in the restaurant industry, working construction on the side. He felt that the restaurant business kept him from his most important work, which was raising his two kids with his wife, Laura.
One day, a fellow church member asked him if he would be interested in installing her countertops. He called his friend, Guy, and, as he puts it, “One job led to another.” The Granite Guys gave Mike the ability to provide for his family, while also showing up for ballgames and helping his wife with dinner.
While Guy manages the administration, Mike oversees the employees. He keeps up morale with his amazing sense of humor, and, if you play your cards right, he’ll tell you stories about serving as a chef for a former Texas governor. Remind him that his anniversary is December 16, and that he’s been married 33 years.
He encapsulates the southern “Good ol’ boy.” His life revolves around faith, family, and deer hunting.
Guy Mackey made his way north from the beautiful state of Louisiana. His alma mater, LSU, causes a friendly rivalry in the office when LSU plays Auburn.
Like Mike, Guy considers his family his priority. With his wife of thirty-two years, Kim, Guy leads Bible studies, teaching parents to connect with and teach their children. You’ll probably find a book on his desk, full of dog-eared pages and post-it notes, and you can tell that he invests in his children. His conversations begin with his pride in their accomplishments.
Warm and humble, Guy loves God, his family, and people. He invests in his church and the community. If you enter his store, and you’re experiencing hardship, Guy stops work to come out and pray with you.
Rachel has been with the Granite Guys for 8 years. Some may say she is the glue that holds the office together. She is the friendly voice you hear when you call or the kind face you see when you visit our office. She is one of the most organized people you will ever meet. When she started with the Granite Guys she was young and willing to work. Over the years she has gone beyond what the Guys ever expected. Her knowledge of what makes the company work stand out when she helps clients find their perfect countertops.
Rachel also is a loving wife and as of December 2023 a loving mom.
Some of the men on our team have been with us for years. They work excellently as a team and friends. Their talent, hard work, and skills are what help make The Granite Guys a company worth trusting to build your perfect space.
We could not operate efficiently without the support of our team. These guys do the heavy lifting, the finishing work, and the installation. If you visit our showroom and look over our in-house inventory, it will not be surprising if you don’t see them cutting, sanding, prepping, and laughing. When they arrive at your home with your countertops, they bring a sense of Southern charm and treat every client like their favorite neighbor.
We consider them the best crew in Mississippi.
